Lanz Bulldog D1706 Operators manual wanted

Beitragvon JohnnyG » 17.04.2008, 09:43

Hi All,
New to the site, found it while browsing for the above manual. I have a good friend who is restoring a Lanz D1706 (1955)and Im helping him with the sourcing of parts etc.
I have (Thanks to a German Friend) a copy of the manual in German but I'm still looking for either a copy or an original operators manual in English
Can anyone point me in the right direction (Location Ireland). Also a clear wiring diagram would be very helpful too.

Danke.

The 1706 is very similar to the 5506 except that it doesn't have a hot-bulb and one or two other changes such as the air cleaner and position of fuel filter etc.

I have not come across any English documentation for the 5506, but have the original owner's manual and parts list that came with the tractor, IN FRENCH!

Did any of these tractors ever get commercially imported into the UK and Ireland, an interesting point that perhaps Andy might be able to help with?

Best of luck in your searches

Thanks Pat,

So far Ive no luck locating an English booklet, I did get my hands on an original German manual.
There are a good few of this model around mainly in the UK so I assume there must be manuals available for them in English.
I have a spare parts book in German and the operators manual in German too.

Hopefully someone can come good for me with an English operating manual.......

Thats interesting, I was not aware that there are mant 1706 in the UK. Were they officially sold as new there or have a lot been imported from the continent.

I have to say that I do not know much about the distribution of Lanz in UK, can anyone fill us in?

For an English language manual for the D1706 go to bdog_parts@hotmail.com in Australia.
I have details of 15 D1706 and 22 D2206 in Britain. I don't think they were ever imported to work and most have probably come in more recently from Ireland or the Continent. I have details of another 6 D1706 and 16 D2206 in Ireland.

Hi Andy,
The address that you give does not seem to work, it just goes direct to hotmail, could there be an error crept in? Perhaps it is just me and my wine-soaked french keyboard, Best wishes

@patfinistere:

This may sound stupid:

But it's not a www URL, but rather an e-mail adress. You have to sent E-Mails to this address. Otherwise your web browser might redirect you to hotmail.com. :?

What an idiot I am, you are quite right, I think that the wine must have got into the cranial space and blocked some of the neurons from buzzing around, many thanks for the tip!
